Dr. Harpreet Singh Grewal is currently working as Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Shiv Nadar University. He obtained his Ph.D. in the area of Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Ropar. Prior to joining Shiv Nadar University, he worked as a Post-Doctorate Researcher at Korea Institute of Science and Technology, Republic of Korea. Thrust areas of his research are Tribology (macro, micro and nano), Biomimetics and Surface Modifications. His research interests include surface modifications for controlling the wear, friction and adhesion using techniques such as thermal spraying, microwave processing and friction stir processing. He is also involved in developing bio-inspired superhydrophobic self-cleaning surfaces with modulated adhesion and friction and anti-wear surface. He has published more that 50 peer-reviewed Internaitonal Journal papers, several national/International conference papers and sponsered projects from DST-SERB, NRB and CSIR.
Development of self-cleaning surfaces, advanced materials and manufacturing techniques for controlling environmental degradation, wetting phenomenon, and surface engineering.
