Profile Summary 

Dr. Harpreet Singh is working as Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Shiv Nadar University. He obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Ropar. Prior to joining Shiv Nadar University, he worked as Post-Doctorate Research Associate at University of North Texas, USA, where he worked on characterization of amorphous metals, amorphous metal based composite materials and understanding structural changes in these materials as a result of high strain deformation both at macro and nano-scales. His research interest includes tailoring surface properties of materials for developing advanced bio-implants, limiting degradtion by wear, corrosion, erosion and their synergistic effects, high strain-rate deformation by friction stir processing, surface texturing and tribology. He also works on advanced striuctural materials such as bulk-metallic glasses, metallic glass composites and high entropy alloys. He has published in more than 50 peer-reviewed International Journals and reputed conferences. He has received sponsored projects from different funding agencies including DST-SERB, NRB, CSIR and IUSSTF
