Advanced Manufacturing Lab

Manufacturing is the conversion of raw materials into desired end products. The word derives from two Latin roots meaning hand and make. Advanced manufacturing processes (AMP) deals with the use of innovative/cutting-edge technologies for the development of efficient, reliable, products at affordable cost for meeting demands of the society. Advanced manufacturing processes offers substantial opportunities while overcoming the limitations of conventional manufacturing processes. The AMP lab is actively engaged in development of state-of-the-art research facilities with focus on areas of imminent interest such as additive manufacturing, microwave-based casting/cladding, and friction stir processing.
